Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to safeguard, secure, and control access to all AFCU Corporate Facilities. Security Professionals ensure a safe, secure, and compliant facility environment through technology integration and proactive security protocols. This includes greeting and verifying visitors, monitoring and evaluating CCTV camera feeds and responding to alarm alerts, directing guests and incoming phone calls to appropriate personnel, assisting with special events, and acting as a point of contact during emergency situations.
The Security Specialist conducts patrols of the building throughout the day to help maintain a clean and secure environment.

Serving as the first point of contact for visitors and staff, the Security Specialist ensures a secure and welcoming environment. The role combines front‑desk reception with essential security responsibilities, including access control, surveillance monitoring, and emergency response coordination. A basic understanding of unarmed security protocol, a professional demeanor, the willingness to assist, the ability to remain vigilant especially under pressure, and accurate recording of information are all vital to this position.
Responsibilities- Front‑desk security: greet and verify visitors and employees; issue badges and maintain the visitor management system; answer calls and direct them appropriately; escort visitors and vendors; maintain professional relations with all parties; prepare conference rooms; attend staff meetings.
- Control and monitor corporate building access: monitor security systems (Avigilon CCTV, CCure access control, Bosch RPS intrusion detection, Mountain Alarm), maintain situational awareness, secure entrances and exits, oversee departing personnel, coordinate with security and emergency services, conduct daily foot patrols, inspect high‑security areas, detect and report suspicious activity, handle violations.
- Access‑control tasks: manage returned temporary badges, unlock doors when requested, monitor badge rejects, record daily activities and incident reports.
- Emergency assistance: understand emergency procedures, assist the safety team, contact emergency personnel and police, serve as contact for safety wardens during evacuations, complete incident reports, assist with fire drills, participate in panic‑alarm drills.
- Professional attire: adhere to the company dress code, present a neat and professional appearance suitable for security operations.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Basic Microsoft applications:
Excel, Teams, Outlook. - Familiarity with Video Management Systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with Alarm & Intrusion Detection systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with Visitor Management systems and procedures (preferred).
- Familiarity with Building Security protocols (preferred).
- 2‑4 years of Reception/Front‑Desk duties.
- 2‑4 years of Building Security duties.
- Excellent communication and public‑relations skills.
- Able to enforce company policies and procedures.
