Job Summary /Basic Function

The Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) is responsible for implementing and managing Weber State University’s industrial security programs, ensuring compliance with NISPOM and government regulations (DCSA/DOE) for protecting classified information. They manage personnel clearances (PCL), facility clearances (FCL), physical security, and security training, acting as the primary liaison between Weber State University and government agencies with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and its implementing document, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual.

The FSO serves as the principal advisor to management on all classified and sensitive information matters.

The CSSO portion of the role is responsible for all aspects of Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) management. They will manage personnel and physical security requirements in accordance with the Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and ensure security integrity of all secure spaces.

Required Qualifications
  • Must possess and maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Industrial Security within the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience with DCSA security systems, including DISS/NBIS (Defense Information System for Security) and e-QIP
  • Experience in the construction and maintenance of SCIFs to include Construction Security Plans (CSP), access control, alarm monitoring, and ICD 705 compliance
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, particularly for liaising with government agencies and conducting training
  • Strong attention to detail for meticulous record-keeping and auditing
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, manage multiple priorities, and work with minimal supervision
