Job Description
** Primary
Location:
** Ogden, Utah
** Diesel Mechanic:
*** Repairs and maintains fleet vehicles and equipment including heavy to light trucks, cars, trailers, and forklifts and conducts light manufacturing by performing the following duties.
* Reads problem description and diagnosis equipment to determine malfunction and corrective action
* necessary for repair.
* Inspects vehicles for defective equipment.
* Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all fleet vehicle systems. Overhauls gas or diesel engines.
* Drives or operates repaired vehicles and equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
* Installs special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to technical manuals or schematic drawings.
* Wears company provided uniform and safety devices as appropriate to comply with safety standards and to present a professional image.
* Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.# #
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** Lead mechanic supervises subordinate mechanics.#
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * Be able to travel 20% of time. Provide own basic hand tools.

** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**# High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.#
** CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
** Valid Driver’s License, Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, Forklift Certified by company. Obtain and maintain OSHA forklift safety certification. Applications and certifications for equipment.#
** COMMUNICATION SKILLS
** Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.#
** MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
** Ability to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats. Ability to interpret rate, ratio, percent, and graphs.#
** REASONING ABILITY
** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.#
