AV Technician – 6‑Month Contract‑to‑Hire
We are hiring AV Technicians for a 6‑month contract‑to‑hire opportunity supporting multiple fast‑paced construction projects across Salt Lake City, Utah County, Weber County, and Davis County. Work includes AV installation, security camera installs, access control, and structured cabling. Technicians meet at a central location in Ogden and are transported to job sites.
This role is ideal for skilled professionals who can integrate quickly, deliver high‑quality installations, and support junior team members. Travel opportunities with additional compensation may be available.
Responsibilities- Install and support AV systems (Crestron, Q‑Sys/QSC, Extron, Biamp)
- Install and troubleshoot security cameras and access control (PDK, Salto, Genea)
- Perform Cat5/Cat6 cabling, terminations, and structured cabling tasks
- Install wireless access points and basic hardware setups (rack work, set up/tear down)
- Troubleshoot AV, network, and cabling issues
- Collaborate with team members on construction‑site projects
- Experience in AV installation, structured cabling, CCTV, WAP installation, or access control
- Strong troubleshooting and technical support abilities
- Ability to work in active construction environments
- Expert‑level experience preferred
- Punch‑down tools (66, 110, Belden, Krone)
- Phillips & flathead screwdrivers (#1 & #2)
- 10‑in‑1 screwdriver
- Adjustable wrenches (6" & 8")
- Channel‑lock pliers
- Lineman pliers (9" & side cuts)
- Needle‑nose pliers
- Flashlight
- Snips
- Cable/razor knife
- Tape measure
- Torpedo level
- Tool pouch + tool bag/bucket
- Sheetrock saw
- Hammer
This is a Contract position based out of Ogden, UT.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
