Job SummaryThe position may involve, but is not limited to, assisting other technicians with tasks such as cable management; pulling and routing low voltage cable (cat
6), alarm wire, and fiber-optic cable in new construction and existing buildings; repairing clocks and radio; setting up and programming A/V classroom equipment; performing printer and some computer repairs; setting up sound systems; and installing wireless.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Skills in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- Criminal background check required as a condition of employment.
Role requires ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Uses feet, legs, hands, and arms; emphasizes agility. Maintaining equilibrium, walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Bending forward at waist, bending knees, moving on hands and knees or hands and feet, extending hands and arms, standing for sustained periods, moving for long distances, applying steady force, exerting force to haul objects, lifting, operating, preparing, inspecting, detecting, positioning, grasping, feeling, expressing ideas, and receiving detailed information.
Physical RequirementsMedium work; may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly. Visual acuity required for operating machines, non-repetitive skilled trade tasks, operating motor vehicles, and general observation of facilities.
Work ConditionsSubject to environmental conditions, including weather and temperature variations. Exposure to noise requiring shouting to be heard. Exposure to vibration from oscillating movements. Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, high places, high heat, chemicals, narrow passages, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small rooms that may cause claustrophobia. Requires function in narrow aisles or passageways.
