- High school diploma, GED, or higher.
- At least 6 years of work experience, including 3 years of direct experience in a critical facility operation such as a data center or hospital.
- EPA 608 certification.
- Ability to pass the NITC Journey‑Level HVAC Exam within the first year of employment.
- Eligible for a government security investigation; U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or other significant mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with CMMS software for tracking and documenting work orders and maintenance activities.
- Good vision (corrected vision is acceptable), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
- Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.
- Strong reading and interpretation skills for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams.
- Maintain and repair complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants.
- Operate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air‑handling units.
- Install, maintain, and repair minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Monitor and control environmental systems using BMS platforms.
- Read and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Document work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities using CMMS software.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet, climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logically sound answers.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- Observe details at close range and understand spoken information and ideas presented through spoken words.
- Recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and report it promptly.
