Overview
Our client is expanding rapidly and is looking to add a Low Voltage Foreman to its growing team. The Foreman will lead crews and manage the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of low‑voltage projects across several commercial industries in Utah and the surrounding Intermountain Region. The role involves directing and coordinating field activities of cabling and installation projects while meeting company policies, profit goals, and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Arrive on time and ready to work at the job site.
- Communicate that safety is the number one priority in all phases of work.
- Represent the company professionally, maintaining a clean work area and good appearance.
- Coach, encourage, and train employees to reach their full potential.
- Provide clear instructions to technicians to accomplish daily objectives and drive project success.
- Notify the Project Manager by 2 PM of labor availability or needs for the next day and additional parts or inventory required.
- Ensure all required tools are in possession and comply with company policy.
- Interpret and follow specifications, schematics, and job orders, conveying scope to subordinates.
- Make discretionary decisions that improve quality, efficiency, or profitability without negative impact on the customer.
- Supervise crew performance, including subcontractors, to ensure quality workmanship and a safe environment.
- Resolve work problems and assist others in doing the same.
- Enforce compliance with local codes and company policies, including timely entry of time.
- Manage inventory transfer from warehouse to job site and maintain accurate records.
- Attend post‑project meetings to evaluate performance and profitability.
- Conduct field measurements as needed and maintain current specs and drawings on site.
- Ensure tools, ladders, and equipment are labeled, secured, and properly maintained.
- Maintain accurate incident reports and notify the office immediately of any accidents.
- Handle change orders according to company procedures.
- Keep truck and equipment clean and well‑maintained; report maintenance needs promptly.
- Perform weekly inventory checks and restock the van as necessary.
- Begin work promptly each day, planning to minimize overtime and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Perform any other duty or task assigned by the Project Manager.
- Proven field experience installing and servicing door access control platforms (Prodatakey, Salto, Milestone, Genea, Mercury‑based hardware, or similar systems).
- Familiarity with structured cabling (Cat6), camera installation, IP networking, rack mounting, and system termination.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and national low‑voltage standards.
- Experience with access control, audio‑visual, security cameras, cabling, structured cabling, troubleshooting, and basic hardware setup/tear‑down.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to use test equipment confidently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of work performed.
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a good record; ability to travel to multiple work sites.
- Professional appearance.
- Ready to use personal hand tools or willing to purchase them.
- Physical capability to lift at least 50 lb and work on feet or ladder all day.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 10 ft.
- Availability for overtime and weekends if needed.
- Adjustable pliers (channel locks), 9" lineman pliers, side‑cut pliers, needle‑nose pliers, punch‑down tools, screwdrivers (#1, #2, 10 &
1), adjustable wrench, flash light, snips, cable knife, tape measure, torpedo level, and a tool pouch.
Contract position based out of Ogden, UT. Pay range: $30 – $40 per hour.
