Overview
We are rapidly expanding and looking to add to our growing team. This role is part of our Low Voltage Division and will actively lead crews while performing installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of low voltage systems across various commercial environments throughout Utah and the surrounding Intermountain Region.
The Foreman is responsible for directing and coordinating field activities for cabling and installation projects in alignment with company policies, procedures, and profitability goals. This role requires a strong leader who is self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and ready to work at assigned job sites
- Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all phases of work
- Represent the company professionally in appearance, communication, and job site cleanliness
- Lead, coach, and develop technicians to maximize team performance
- Provide clear direction to crew members to meet daily project objectives
- Communicate daily with the Project Manager (by 2 PM) regarding labor needs and material requirements
- Maintain required tools in accordance with company policy
- Interpret and execute work per project specifications, schematics, and job orders
- Understand full project scope and effectively communicate it to the team
- Make informed field decisions to improve quality, efficiency, and project profitability
- Supervise crew members and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and to high-quality standards
- Troubleshoot issues and assist team members in problem-solving
- Ensure compliance with all local codes and industry standards
- Manage scheduling, labor allocation, materials, and equipment efficiently
- Maintain job site organization and cleanliness throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of labor hours
- Track and assign all materials and inventory to the appropriate job
- Submit requests for additional work (change orders) per company process
- Maintain current project drawings and specifications on-site
- Receive and verify materials; report shortages immediately
- Properly document and return unused inventory
- Plan and coordinate equipment and tool needs
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, reporting maintenance needs promptly
- Conduct weekly vehicle inventory and restocking
- Document and report all policy violations using progressive discipline
- Maintain accurate records for incidents, injuries, and job site activity
- Report job site accidents immediately
- Participate in post-project reviews to assess performance and profitability
- Minimize unnecessary supplier trips through proactive planning
- Perform field measurements when required
- Support ongoing process improvements and efficiency initiatives
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Project Manager
- Experience installing and servicing access control systems such as:
- Prodatakey (PDK)
- Salto
- Genea
- Milestone Systems (VMS-integrated)
- Mercury-based hardware
- Or similar platforms
- Hands-on experience with:
- Structured cabling (Cat5/6)
- CCTV and IP camera systems
- Audio-visual systems (e.g., Crestron, Q-Sys)
- Network infrastructure and rack installations
- System termination and troubleshooting
- Access control systems
- Audio visual systems
- Security camera installation (CCTV)
- Structured cabling and termination
- Low voltage systems installation
- Troubleshooting and technical support
- Wireless access point (WAP) installation
- Fiber optic cabling
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Basic computer proficiency
- Experience using testing equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to multiple job sites
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to work on feet or ladders for extended periods
- Comfortable working at heights (10+ feet)
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Punch down tools (66/110, Belden, Krone)
- Screwdrivers (#1, #2, multi-bit)
- Adjustable wrench (6" and 8")
- Channel locks
- Lineman pliers, side cutters, needle nose pliers
- Flashlight
- Cable knife / razor knife

This is a Contract position based out of Ogden, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
