Primary
Location:
Ogden, Utah
- Installs, maintains, and repairs production equipment and minor plant facilities and support systems.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds to detect malfunction and discusses operation variations with supervisors or maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
- Conducts basic electrical checks on components including continuity, fuses, and switches.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as motors, transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lay outs, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
- Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the establishment.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinders and drills to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Performs duties of Production Operator as required.
- Wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment.
- Wears company‑provided uniform and required sanitation and safety devices to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
- Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
QualificationsMust provide own tools.
Education and ExperienceOne‑year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsForklift certified by the company; obtain and maintain OSHA forklift safety certification.
Communication SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats; ability to interpret rate, ratio, percent, and graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee regularly stands, walks, uses hands to handle or feel, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, and must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentExposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration; occasional exposure to high precarious places, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Noise level is usually very loud.
