Thispositionisidealforanindividualwhohasexistingweldingexperienceandenjoysavarietyofconstructiontasksratherthanperformingweldingexclusively.
Thesuccessfulcandidatewillberesponsibleforstructuralfieldweldingusingthe Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) andFlux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processeswhilealsoassistingwithallaspectsofstructuralsteelerectionandgeneralconstructionactivities.
Thisrolerequiressomeonewhounderstandsthatweldingisonlyonepartofasuccessfulironworker'sresponsibilitiesandiswillingtocontributewhereverneededtohelptheteamcompleteprojectssafely,efficiently,andwithhighquality.
Asaconditionofemployment,successfulcandidatesmustenrollinandactivelyparticipateinHHICorporation'sIronworker Apprenticeship Program .Theapprenticeshipisdesignedtodevelopwell-roundedironworkersthroughstructuredtrainingandhands-onfieldexperience.
Theidealcandidatedemonstratesprofessionalism,astrongworkethic,andateam-firstattitude.
Theycommunicateeffectivelywithcustomers,governmentrepresentatives,inspectors,superintendents,foremen,andcoworkerswhilemaintainingHHI'scommitmenttosafety,quality,andcraftsmanship.
- Performstructuralfieldweldinginaccordancewithapproved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Setup,operate,andmaintainweldingequipmentandtools
- Assistwithstructuralsteelerection,connecting,alignment,bolting,andriggingoperations
- Performgrouting,concrete work,material handling,andgenerallaborasrequired
- Readandinterpretconstructiondrawings,shop drawings,andweldingsymbols
- Inspectthequalityofyourownworkandcorrectdeficienciesasneeded
- Maintainaccurateprojectdocumentation
- Performroutinemaintenanceonassignedequipment
- Complywithallgovernment,industry,andHHIsafety,quality,andenvironmentalrequirements
- Participate in Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA) activities
- DemonstrateHHI'scorevaluesof
