Collision Repair Painter Apprentice

Overview

Ken Garff Automotive Group is seeking a Collision Repair Painter Apprentice to join our team of professionals committed to exceeding customers' expectations.

• Formulate all refinish coatings (primers, bases, clear coats) according to paint supplier technical data.
• Prepare matched OEM refinish color products in ready‑to‑spray formulas using color tools (spray out cards, chip cards, etc.).
• Mix precise amounts of refinish products to cover repair areas and minimize waste using the paint supplier’s mix‑management system.
• Maintain paint formulation and spray application equipment (paint guns, mixing systems, computers) in working order.
• Update color, technical data and material records as received.
• Keep paint booth, prep station and storage rooms clean and organized.
• Manage, order and track inventory of refinish supplies to meet production needs.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health compliance procedures.
• Paint vehicles with detail and skill.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including spraying vehicles if required.

• Minimum 5 years experience as an automotive painter.
• Minimum 2 years experience in automotive paint color matching.
• I-CAR certifications preferred.
• At least 18 years old; able to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent manual dexterity, patience, and eye for detail.
• Valid in‑state driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
