The Bilingual Office Assistant/Receptionist is an important position at the WSU Community Education Center (CEC) because this team member is the first person customers meet at the center. The qualified candidate will possess strong interpersonal and listening skills, and have the ability to engage with customers from all backgrounds.
Responsibilities include:
greeting/assisting customers with information and registration for programs at the WSU CEC; answering phone calls and emails; performing data entry and other basic office duties as assigned. This position is part time and requires availability to work evenings up until 9:00 pm. 15 hours/week. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
- Quick learner, willing to be flexible in a constantly growing environment.

using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion; lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position; repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
Visual Acuity RequirementsRequirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).
