Pre-school Autism Aide

Weber Human Services (WHS), located in Ogden, Utah serves a growing urban population residing in Weber and Morgan Counties.

We are an organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. WHS was organized by a cooperative agreement between the Weber and Morgan county governments to serve as the local authority for the provision of their substance abuse, mental health and senior service programs.

Weber Human Services is the only organization in the State of Utah providing these services under a single administration. Through dozens of human services programs, WHS helps thousands of its neighbors by supporting and empowering our most vulnerable groups including at-risk youth, the elderly, children, youth and adults suffering from mental illnesses, and those recovering from addictions.

The typical day in this position includes helping children with autism prepare for elementary school. You will be in a classroom helping with curriculum and groups, and actively engaging with children between sessions. This position requires someone who is willing to teach, listen and have patience. At the end of the year, you will help put on a graduation for kids who have completed the program.

You get to see all the hard work you put in all year at this event. Changing lives one day at a time.

We would love for you to have some experience with working with children with disabilities, although we can teach you if you have not worked with this population before.

You will need a valid CPR/First Aid card, which we will also help you get if you don't have it.

High school graduate/equivalent; 18 years of age or older.
