Job Summary
Student Web/Application Developer in the Computer Literacy Center (CLC). This hourly/Work-Study position provides 20 hours per week, 12 months per year, with a pay rate of $16/hour. The role involves developing web applications and online learning modules using front‑end and back‑end JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies. The position is located on the Weber State University campus in Ogden, UT.
Responsibilities- Work with the product owner to understand the project requirements and scope.
- Write front‑end and back‑end JavaScript code that implements client‑requested functionality.
- Collaborate with developers, professors, and stakeholders to discover solutions to unique problems.
- Research documentation and implement third‑party libraries.
- Apply programming fundamentals to current projects.
- Assist the Supervisor or CLC Director as needed.
- Learn to create Online Learning Modules for the Computer Literacy Center.
- Create digital projects (Online Learning Modules) as assigned.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with JSON.
- Strong interpersonal skills with clients, co‑workers, and supervisors.
- Familiarity with content‑management systems such as Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, or Word Press.
- Good communication and customer‑service skills from work or volunteer experiences.
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suite.
- Working with APIs.
- Working with databases.
- Working with the Document Object Model (DOM).
- Working with a GUI.
- Familiarity with user experience and accessibility.
- Bilingual / Spanish speaking.
- Priority for WSU undergraduate students.
- Work‑Study preferred.
