The HPHP Climbing Wall Student Assistant aids in inspection, maintenance, instruction, and events at the climbing wall. Specific duties may include monthly and/or semi-annual inspections, maintenance as needed, hold cleaning and route setting, and assistance with special events, classes, or clinics.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Ability to top rope and lead belay.

Ability to instruct basic climbing skills (bouldering and top roping).

Ability to lead indoor sport climbs.

Ability to climb approx. 5.9/V1.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to climb 5.10/V3 or harder.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
