The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and enjoyable group exercise classes for the Campus Recreation Department at Weber State University. Group X Instructors monitor group exercise participants, creating a supportive and inclusive exercise environment for participants while developing fitness instruction skills and knowledge. This position reports to the Fitness Coordinator.

• American Red Cross CPR/AED and Standard First Aid certifications are required prior to working a shift (offered through Campus Rec once employed).
• Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills.
• Nationally recognized fitness certification required (i.e., ACE, AFAA).
• Background Check required.
• Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment.

• Should have prior group exercise experience.
• Completion of academic group exercise courses is recommended. Athletic Training, Nutrition, Health Promotion, Dance, Physical Education, Human Performance Management, or related major preferred.
