Job Description
As a Transportation Management Coordinator, you will use your organizational skills to schedule and coordinate transportation for personnel and equipment, ensuring cargo and soldiers reach their required destinations. With more than 50,000 heavy trucks and buses in operation, you will oversee the scheduling of semi‑tractor trailers, heavy troop transports, and passenger buses.
Responsibilities- Maintain convoy schedules, bills of lading, and transportation plans.
- Advise constituents on shipment and travel entitlements.
- Request and coordinate transport capability and secure transportation for personnel and equipment.
- Mark, document, and inventory freight, cargo, and material shipments.
- Operate automated data terminal equipment and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
- Perform system administrator duties such as installing software and uploading data to computer systems.
- Prepare equipment, cargo, and personnel for travel to airports, seaports, and railways.
Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training covering fundamental soldiering skills and six weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) focused on transportation management. You will receive a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance while training.
