Delivery Driver

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.

Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.

Must have navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings.

• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Orientation and training are provided on the job.

Communication skills: ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, and to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers during phone and in‑person order processing.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and accurate movements.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills and ability to locate addresses and navigate adverse terrain as described above.

• Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions during outside tasks.
• In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F or higher in some areas.
• Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside.
• Exposure to food odors and cornmeal dust.
• Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler.
• Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher.
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Adverse weather conditions during delivery, driving, and couponing.

• Talking and hearing on telephone.
• Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
• Depth perception.
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Far vision and night vision for driving.

The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

• Standing – Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum; work surface height between 36" and 48".
• Walking – Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel must travel between store and delivery vehicle and to customer location.
• Sitting – Paperwork typically completed at a desk or table in an office.
• Lifting – Bulk product deliveries twice a week or more unloaded with a hand truck; cases may weigh up to 50 lbs with dimensions up to 3' x 1.5'.
• Carrying – Large cans (3 lbs 7 ounces) carried from workstation to storage; occasional 30‑lb pizza sauce; trays of dough (~12 lbs per tray); carrying pizzas and beverages during delivery.
• Pushing – Moving trays on dollies; force of up to 7.5 lbs to push; trays may also be pulled.
• Climbing – Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders; up to five flights of stairs may be required during delivery.
• Stooping/Bending – Forward bending at pizza assembly station (~30–45 s) and front counter; toe space present.
• Crouching/Squatting – Occasionally stock shelves and clean low areas.
• Driving – Deliver pizzas within designated delivery area; several deliveries per shift.
• Hand Tasks – Continuous use of hands; frequent forceful use of forearms and wrists for dough shaping, pizza peel, and cutting; manipulation of cans, phone, pizza cutter, and boxes.
• Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids – Use of pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculator, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.

• Deliver product by car to customer door.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
