This position is accountable for all aspects of material handling, shipping, receiving, stocking, and yard maintenance. The driver ensures timely delivery of materials at their respective fabrication, machining, or assembly areas, while also ensuring proper inspection of received material and placing it in the proper location. The driver operates various types and sizes of lift trucks (1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton, and 2 ton), mobile yard crane, and overhead cranes, and handles all aspects of operating a tractor/trailer combination.

Duties include local pick‑ups and deliveries as well as some over‑the‑road trips.

• Delivery of materials from stock or remnant to respective areas
• Delivery of fabricated, machined, blasted, and painted parts to respective areas
• Loading and unloading of parts and material for customers and vendors
• Receive, inventory, and inspect all incoming material and stock in proper location
• Ensure timely delivery of material to their respective fabrication or assembly areas
• Maintain scrap bins for material disposal
• Maintain racks and zones for material storage
• Maintain I.D. for storage and future use
• Maintain proper documentation of inventory
• Responsible for inspections and care of equipment
• Manage all stock including inventory record accuracy and organization of material in proper locations
• Prepare, package, and protect any outgoing product with coordination and approval of all proper personnel
• Coordinate shipments with Project Manager, Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, and any other relevant personnel

• Able to safely back and maneuver tractor/trailer combination in various loading and unloading locations and situations
• Extensive knowledge of material grades and types
• Knowledge of shipping procedures and how the freight industry works
• Knowledge of inventory control
• Good understanding of computers and inventory programs to retrieve information and verify received items
• Ability to operate and maneuver a variety of equipment in tight positions (large and small forklifts, manlifts, pallet jack, overhead cranes)
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 49 lbs
• Able to work in all weather conditions in and outside the shop
• Must be able to work effectively without supervision
• Willing to work overtime when necessary
• Willing to train new hires on all aspects of material handling
• Ability to develop and maintain trust, unity, and partnership with management, team members, and customers
• Must maintain a professional conduct and appearance
• Strong advocate of the company vision and mission statements
• Must hold current operators’ certification on powered industrial trucks, Class A CDL license, and current medical card
• Three to four years of experience operating tractor/trailer combinations and in material handling

• Understand implicit and explicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations
• Resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure

• Require lifting of at least 50 lbs, stooping, bending, and stretching
• May require sitting (forklift) for long periods and standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods

• Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to safety or health of self or others
• Committed to a high standard of safety and willing to comply with all safety laws and employer policies
• Willing to report safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel

Forklift (all sizes), company trucks (those that do not require a CDL), truck tie‑downs, yard crane, shop overhead cranes, man‑lifts.

• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer
• Available and willing to work overtime as required by business needs

• Available and willing to travel as required by business needs

Works inside and mostly outside a typical fabrication shop. Occasionally called upon to work overtime. Working conditions vary according to weather and may require ability to work in heat and cold.

Day Shift: Mondays thru Thursdays 6:00am‑4:30pm
