Summary

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading the safe, efficient day-to-day operations of their assigned function by giving and monitoring work assignments of area personnel, ensuring SOPs are followed, and production goals are met.

Responsibilities
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required as work cannot be performed remotely.
  • Direct workers to ensure safety, accuracy, productivity, and teamwork; coordinate daily workflow and resolve issues.
  • Work or assist in all areas of operation.
  • Follow safety rules; maintain a clean, safe work environment; correct and bring safety issues to management.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Create a positive work environment with a positive attitude.
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, storage, distribution, and production are performed efficiently.
  • Receive deliveries and check for shortages and damage.
  • Store and reorganize stock; operate forklifts and material handling equipment; keep distribution center clean and orderly.
  • Lead and participate in routine work assigned to temporary workers.
  • Keep accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Load, unload, move, and stack product and materials using forklift, reach truck or other power equipment.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of distribution center and/or production environment experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification and safely operate various types of powered industrial trucks.
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory control system preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand up to 6 hours in a day.
  • Walk up to 6 hours.
  • Reach up and out continuously.
  • Occasionally climb.
  • Occasionally push/pull 11‑25 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull 36‑50 pounds.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasional repetitive foot movement.
  • Frequent repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, grasping, and fine hand manipulation.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Wear gloves occasionally.
  • Ability to work at heights.
Language Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
  • Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
Reasoning Ability
  • Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment
  • Distribution center environment.
  • Exposed to vibrations and dust; working around moving machinery.
  • Noise level usually moderate to low decibels.
  • Fast‑paced, team environment.
