Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or forklift.

• Receive, store and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within facilities.
• Read production schedule, work order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
• Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or forklift.
• Assemble orders from stock, place orders on pallets or shelves, and convey orders to packaging or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information or other marking device.
• Record amounts of material or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items for distribution within the facility to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Use computer to enter records.
• Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments and locations.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Frequent lifting with team lift utilized for anything over 50 lbs.

Must have experience with hand truck, forklift and/or lifts for material handling. Support teamwork to attain department objectives. Support and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, and talking or hearing. The employee must exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, and/or 20 lbs constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.

Protective gear such as hearing protection and respirator may be required due to noise and dust. A pre‑employment lift test and physical may be required.
