• Must possess and maintain proper certification as established by state law and the Department of Education
• Must be aware of current trends and developments in education.
• Must possess related training and/or experience.

All students and staff assigned to him/her.

• Interpret, enforce and develop regulations that are in agreement with Board policies, the school handbook and state and federal law.
• Be responsible for discipline for students in grades 6-8.
• Provide leadership in the recruitment of staff.
• Provide leadership for and share responsibility for the development and implementation of staff in-service programs.
• Promote staff professional growth, cooperation and self-development.
• Supervise and evaluate staff performance.
• Administer the master agreements in his/her assigned building.
• Develop, maintain, evaluate, implement and enhance curricular and extracurricular programs.
• Provide leadership for the planning, development and implementation of the high school’s curriculum.
• Use a systematic plan of checks and balances when preparing and supervising the building’s budget.
• Foster positive citizen-staff-student relations and effective communication and citizen participation in the school.
• Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware and responsive.
• Plan, organize and supervise recognition programs for school activities.
• Provide educational and administrative leadership in making and carrying out decisions for the building.
• Anticipate problems and initiate solutions to problems.
• Be cognizant of students' and staff members’ rights.
• Provide leadership in student management, including in the areas of student attendance, and discipline.
