The QMA is responsible for providing medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort for residents.
Essential Functions- Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository, ear drop, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
- Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders.
- Maintain a locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy.
- Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned by the nurse.
- Document all medications and treatments in the medication record and nurses' notes according to policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to protect residents' rights and privacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee.
- CNA certified by the Indiana State Department of Health in good standing.
- Completed a state‑approved training program in medication administration and holds current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
- Thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
- High school diploma or GED.
