Orthopaedic Associates Surgery Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Perioperative Nurse to join our team working in a high volume, orthopaedic only, surgery center. The ideal candidate will be ACLS certified and have previous orthopaedic and/or surgical experience. This is an outpatient-only facility, so hours would be Monday - Friday day shift. This is a Part-Time position.
Under the general supervision of the Surgery Center Supervisor and providers, the Surgery Center Perioperative Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients in various stages of the perioperative experience, encompassing tasks like patient assessment, preparation, monitoring and education, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. The Surgery Center Perioperative Nurse will be responsible for providing a safe environment for patient care in the pre/postoperative areas of the surgery center.

- Pre-operative Care
- Thoroughly assess patient’s medical history, current medications, allergies, and other relevant health information prior to surgery
- Ensure that operative informed consents are signed and correct
- Prepare patients for surgery by starting IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and ensure patient understands their upcoming procedure and what to expect
- Accurately and thoroughly document all assessments, interventions, and patient information in the medical record
- Post-operative Care
- Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs, levels of consciousness, and other vital signs after surgery to detect any complications early
- Provide effective pain management and address any other post‑op symptoms such as nausea or dizziness
- Provide appropriate wound care and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Assist patients and their families with discharge planning, including providing instructions on post‑op care, medication management, and follow‑up appointments
- Accurately and thoroughly document all post‑operative assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the medical record
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Adhere to all policies and procedure of the surgery center
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures
Associates or bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university and current unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse license required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- General computer and telephone skills required
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high volume environment
- Must have the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
