Neurosurgical Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS NEURO) Nights at a designated healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those with cerebrovascular accidents, post-op cranial surgeries, and cerebral angiograms. The role requires strong neuro assessments, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage complex patient needs during night shifts.
Job Details- Location:
Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Schedule:
Nights, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week. - Required Qualifications:
Current active compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), minimum of 2 years of neuro experience, at least 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience, recent Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience, and associate degree or certificate. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with neuro assessments such as NIHSS/dysphagia screening, tele interpretation skills, and proficiency in clinical procedures including blood administration, venipuncture, Foley catheter placement, and NG tube management. - Float:
First to float within skillset; potential to float within campuses and to cross-campus locations with a 2-hour notice. - On Call/Call Back:
Not applicable. - Weekend/Holiday Rotation:
Three weekends out of every six-week schedule, and every other holiday. - Additional Information:
The unit has 37 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:5 to 1:7 during night shifts. The facility maintains a strong leadership team and expects resilient, social candidates who can manage change effectively. Scrub color is navy blue, with no competing logos. May require precepting students and new hires.
