This role is open until filled. Compensation will depend on various factors such as geographic location, skills, experience, and education.
Base pay range$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door of the store for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits such as offering help proactively and servicing until satisfied.
- Hold store keys and, as necessary, open and close the store without management.
- Assist and coach other team members with the warehouse and vendor ordering process, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
- Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, noting scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist the manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
- Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities in basic departments, the stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Ensure the Outdate program is followed with team members.
- Perform basic department pricing and make daily price changes; display proper signage to support accurate pricing. Ensure any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary or as requested.
- Assist in exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store condition, and request repairs as required in the manager’s absence or as requested by the manager.
- Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies/procedures (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves). For consumable items, assist with stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
- Assist at the pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
- Perform bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
- Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is not present.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Exempt in Puerto Rico.)
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
