Accountant, Financial Reporting

Salary Range: $55k - $82k, Experience Considered

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliation, and daily accounting operations. This role ensures accuracy across financial systems, supports month‑end close, and contributes to regulatory compliance. As a key member of our Finance team, you’ll help maintain strong financial controls and reliable reporting using GAAP principles.

• Reconcile bank statements, cash logs, and system records to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Verify daily system balances and confirm proper posting of cash items
• Assist with prepaid maintenance and financial analysis tasks
• Support month‑end closing and documentation of account balances
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns accurately and on time
• Assist with audits and cost report data collection
• Maintain statistical spreadsheets and distribute data as requested
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Joint Commission standards
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, financial, and organizational information
• Support departmental projects and respond to requests professionally
• Utilize accounting software, Excel, and Microsoft Office to complete daily tasks
• Maintain accurate documentation and support data integrity across systems

This is a 100% onsite position at our Port Clinton, OH location.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 3 years of hospital accounting experience
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect errors
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain confidentiality

• Advanced Excel skills
• 1 year of experience in healthcare or hospital accounting environment
