About the RoleWe’re seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliation, and daily accounting operations. This role ensures accuracy across financial systems, supports month‑end close, and contributes to regulatory compliance. As a key member of our Finance team, you’ll help maintain strong financial controls and reliable reporting using GAAP principles.
What You’ll Do- Reconcile bank statements, cash logs, and system records to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Verify daily system balances and confirm proper posting of cash items
- Assist with prepaid maintenance and financial analysis tasks
- Support month‑end closing and documentation of account balances
- Prepare and submit sales tax returns accurately and on time
- Assist with audits and cost report data collection
- Maintain statistical spreadsheets and distribute data as requested
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Joint Commission standards
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, financial, and organizational information
- Support departmental projects and respond to requests professionally
- Utilize accounting software, Excel, and Microsoft Office to complete daily tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation and support data integrity across systems

This is a 100% onsite position at our Port Clinton, OH location.
Required- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 3 years of hospital accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect errors
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain confidentiality
- Advanced Excel skills
- 1 year of experience in healthcare or hospital accounting environment
