Location: Lewis Center

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable function, managing a team of five AP Clerks, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor payments. This role will lead process improvements, develop scalable procedures and internal controls, and partner cross-functionally with accounting, procurement, and operations teams to support the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of five Accounts Payable Clerks
  • Oversee daily AP operations including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments
  • Build and improve accounts payable processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume invoices and payments
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and implement process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Review vendor reconciliations and resolve escalated discrepancies or payment issues
  • Partner with accounting leadership on month-end close, accruals, and audit support
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and payment terms
  • Develop reporting and metrics related to AP performance, aging, and cash flow
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to streamline purchasing and payment processes
  • Assist with ERP system enhancements, implementations, or upgrades
  • Establish and document standard operating procedures for the AP department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing AP staff
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location environments
  • ERP system experience such as SAP, Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Oracle
  • Experience leading process improvement or automation initiatives
