Payroll Specialist (Europe / Multi-Country)
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple European markets within Organon. This role ensures full compliance with local legislation, company policies, and internal controls, while supporting a standardized and efficient payroll delivery model across the region.
The Payroll Specialist acts as a key liaison between Payroll, HR Service Delivery, Finance, Tax, and external providers, providing subject matter expertise on payroll matters and ensuring high-quality service delivery across all assigned countries. The role reports to the Regional Payroll Lead and operates within a regional team structure.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate end-to-end payroll processing for multiple European entities.
- Monitor and validate personnel and compensation changes for accuracy and compliance with local laws, tax, and collective agreements.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including payroll tax filings, social security contributions, and implementation of legislative updates.
- Perform payroll controls, coordinate approvals and reconciliations (e.g., gross-to-net, balance sheet) and support audits in line with SOX and internal policies.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, SD Worx, or local vendors) and ensure service delivery aligns with SLAs and quality standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for HR, Finance, Tax, and employees, providing payroll expertise and handling inquiries.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization, supporting payroll projects, system optimization, and process harmonization across countries.
Required Education, Experience, and
Skills:
- Understanding of different Payroll components and processes, optimally within a multinational environment.
- Experience in international remuneration is a plus.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize workload and manage deadlines with attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of relevant software (MS-Office) with a good working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively as a team member.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Additional European languages are a strong advantage.
