Job Cost Accountant / Accounts Payable Associate
$55,000 - $60,000 per year + benefits
This is a full-time position located at our new headquarters at 14646 Ravenna Road, Newbury, OH.
The JCA/AP Associate is a key role in our finance department, receiving and recording job costs from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. This role utilizes skills involving project management, organization, and communications to ensure accurate job costs are applied to the appropriate projects.
Responsibilities- Collect job cost information and maintain bills in an Accounts Payable database.
- Assist in bill and deposit recording.
- Perform day-to-day accounts payable and related entries.
- Plan and record variable costs (e.g., purchase of raw materials and operations costs).
- Review projected and actual costs for inaccuracies.
- Create accurate and timely invoices in accounting software.
- Daily deposit recording of checks and ACH payments received.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closings.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain various financial reports.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other employees and clients.
- Ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to research and resolve accounting and job cost related discrepancies.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Computer literacy, MS Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
- Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies or Administration or relevant study preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable/Job Cost Accounting.
