RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and record payments for college services including registration payments received in person, by phone and via mail and enter into a computerized financial database; checks account for accuracy and any holds in place.
- Perform miscellaneous services for students and employees including cashing checks, while providing excellent customer service.
- Make daily deposit ensuring all receipts balance for the day; close office at end of day in accordance with security requirements; scan end of day reports.
- Record and process box office sales and balance box office receipts.
- Disperse petty cash in accordance with College policy and procedures.
- Answer questions regarding accounts, financial aid status, student tax forms, and College policy.
- Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable regarding collection files and other duties as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of general clerical experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities are acceptable.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; basic mathematics.
- Skills in following oral and written instructions; performing calculations and balancing cash receipts and college funds.
- Abilities to operate standard office and accounting equipment; perform routine and detailed tasks in an accurate and efficient manner; maintain effective interpersonal working relationships; work independently.
Physical Activity Level
- Sedentary - Stand often, sit sometimes, lift up to 10 lbs.
- This is a part-time, non-exempt, continuing status staff position, Staff 4A, with a minimum starting rate of $14.30/hr.with non-insurance college benefits. Non-insurance benefits include paid time away (vacation, personal, sick and holiday pay) and prorated tuition.
This position requires working a flexible schedule and may include weekend hours for box office.

The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s). - Lakeland Community College does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.
