Aa. Classified Substitutes

Port Clinton City School District is looking for substitutes for cafeteria, custodial, and bus driver positions. Substitutes cover vacations and sick leave; hours range from 2–4 hours per day as needed. Part‑time and full‑time positions may become available and can be filled from the substitute list.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate. Training and experience are desired but not required. Substitute bus drivers must possess a CDL and meet all bus driver qualifications.

Interested candidates should complete the classified application described below or call 419‑732‑2102. Completed applications should be submitted to the Port Clinton Board of Education, 811 S. Jefferson Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.

Administration, Certified, and Classified Employees and Classified Substitutes are required to have a BCI/FBI background check to be employed by the Port Clinton City School District. If you already have a background check within the last year, bring a copy to the Board Office. Please contact Andrea Cochran at the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department to arrange the check. Screening hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑4:30.

Andrea will ask where you want the BCI/FBI check sent; please have it sent to yourself as well as to the Ohio Department of Education and bring a copy to the Board of Education. Be sure to ask the Sheriff’s Department Clerk to send it electronically to the Ohio Department of Education.

Cost: BCI check $30, FBI check $40. If done together, total $70, paid by cash or money order to OTTAWA COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE. No personal checks accepted.
