Overview

Administrative Professional 1 ( ) – full‑time position located at Correction Reception Center, 11271 State Route 762, Orient, Ohio.

Compensation: $21.93 per hour.

Schedule:

Full‑time. Union: OCSEA. Primary job skill:
Administrative Support/Services.

Responsibilities
  • Type, proofread, and edit documents.
  • Copy, scan, distribute, post and/or file correspondences, reports, and memos.
  • Compose and respond to routine correspondence and verbal requests that do not require supervisor attention.
  • Prepare typed copies of staff correspondence, schedules, logs, and responses.
  • Research, retrieve, and enter data into the DOTS Portal system or other applicable programs.
  • Direct telephone inquiries from the public to the appropriate staff member.
  • Input data into ORAS as needed.
  • Maintain and provide documentation as required by American Correctional Association Standards, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Interact with other departments.
  • Provide information and compile data.
  • Receive, sort, review, and distribute all incoming/outgoing mail, correspondence, and directives.
  • Schedule and provide clerical support for appointments and meetings (including special projects, video in‑reach, virtual hearings, and virtual funeral visits).
  • Perform general clerical tasks (e.g., answer telephones, file documents, order supplies, inventory control).
  • Review visiting applications for completeness and enter data into the DOTS Portal System.
  • Coordinate and ensure processing of routine tasks.
  • Set up and maintain correspondences, forms, and reports (organize, alphabetize, file).
  • Create new files.
  • Purges records in accordance with applicable retention schedules.
  • Manage appointment schedules, notify personnel, arrange meetings, and provide clerical support to other offices as assigned.
  • Serve on committees and attend meetings, seminars, conferences, and in‑service training as required.
  • Ensure work area is secure, clean, and orderly.
  • Provide other related clerical support as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum: 1 year training or experience in secretarial science or business office applications; for positions requiring technical terminology, an additional 6 months training or experience in relevant technical terminology is required. Equivalent class qualifications may also qualify for this position.
