The role can be based across Germany, however it has to be within commuting distance to one of our offices.

Your new role

As a Global Data Regulatory Business Partner (m/f/d) for Germany and Central Europe, you are part of the Global Data Regulation Team under the Senior Data Regulation Manager. You drive data regulation processes within your area, as outlined in the Global Data Regulation Programme. Your role involves supporting business areas in meeting client and business regulatory requirements, mainly data privacy but also other digital regulations as needed.

You will work within Ramboll's Global guidelines and with the support of your team.

Practically, you will provide project support to business units and collaborate across the organisation to address complex data regulation issues, helping to mitigate regulatory risks. You must be a confident communicator with a positive attitude and a sense of humour.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Implementation of Global Data Regulation Programme

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and compliance activities of the Global Data Regulation Programme, including updating processing records, reviewing vendors/systems/projects, and addressing data regulation concerns, breaches, and requests in collaboration with the Global Data Regulation Team.
  • Assist Process Owners in fulfilling personal data processing requirements and may review DPA appendixes for accuracy and proper measures.

Project support to the Business Units and Geographies for Data Regulatory Requirements

  • Assist Business Units in meeting client requirements through assessments, implementation, and risk identification related to Privacy, AI, and NIS2, adhering to Ramboll’s global standards, templates, and guidelines, while facilitating collaboration to address complex data regulation issues and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in meetings with work councils and other stakeholders where required, confidently communicating your expertise across various stakeholders.

Reporting

  • Collaborate with the Global Data Regulation manager to define annual priorities based on identified risks, and maintain records for reporting data regulation concerns, breaches, and data subject requests according to the procedure.

Monitoring and Audit Plan

  • Assist with the annual monitoring and audit plan following the Global Regulatory Monitoring and Audit Framework to ensure data compliance across projects, processes, systems, and suppliers, and analyse findings to identify risks, prepare action plans, and help mitigate potential risks.

About you

  • A master’s degree in law, or another degree with suitable experience. Certifications such as a CIPP/E/AIGP (or similar) certifications are a bonus.
  • At least 4+ years experience supporting data privacy activities, preferably within an international organisation; exposure to Information Security.
  • Solid legal knowledge, and hands‑on experience, with the GDPR, knowledge of other privacy and data regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • To be methodical, thorough, and keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English and German, verbally and in writing.
