Job Summary

Provide pre and post-award sponsored activities to CSU Land Grant program’s faculty and staff, including, but not limited to project administration, regulatory compliance and fiscal management, proposal development, budget development, and proposal submission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the fiscal administration of sponsored projects,including the determination of allowability of costs, the application of the appropriate regulations and policies,
  • Perform and have oversight of accounts reconciliation includingcost transfers
  • Enter requisitions in university enterprise management systemand monitor processing of documents to conclusion.
  • Assist with hiring by preparing Strategic Position Review ( SPR) and Personnel Action Form ( PAF ) documents and other employment related activities for all land grant activities and other grantswithin land grant division.
  • Review and analyze award documents.
  • Review and assist with land grant proposal submissions.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of regulations applicable tosponsored programs administration – federal, state, and private.

    This includes Uniform Guidance for federal grants and contracts and United States Department of Agriculture specific rules,regulations, and policies. Also maintain a thorough knowledge of University policies concerning sponsored programs, intellectual property, compliance, and other related issues.
  • Coordinate with Post Award Director, Office of Sponsored Programs and Research, Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Associate Director for Agricultural Research Development Program Associate Extension Administrator, Deans,faculty, and sponsors to develop and negotiate the terms and conditions, including IP issues, of complex legal agreements.
  • Monitor to ensure that technical reporting is being performed.
  • Act as an administrative point of contact for Land Grantrelated projects in coordination with other university Divisionsparticularly Administration and Finance.
  • Maintain archives and records that adhere to sponsor retentionschedules.
  • Provide back-up support to Director Post Award and Director ofPre-Award, Office of Sponsored Programs and Research asneeded.
  • Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with university and sponsor policies and procedures. Assist with gathering data for external audits.
  • Maintain personnel database for each land grant project.
  • Participate in regional and national professional organizations to maintain a current and timely knowledge of changingregulations.
  • Conduct and/or participate in presentations and workshops onissues related to the administration of sponsored programs atlocal, regional, and national meetings.
  • Conduct and/or participate in Division or Universitypresentations and workshops on issues related to the administration of sponsored programs.
  • Assist in the training and education of faculty and staff inbudget development, narrative development, and electronicsubmission.
  • Assist the Director of Post Award, Director of Pre-Award, and Office of Sponsored Programs and Research in communicating policies and procedures to Land Grant faculty and staff.
  • Aid with special projects as needed.
