As a Split Shift Childcare Teacher, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive. From leading activities to building meaningful relationships, you’ll play an important role in shaping each child’s day.

• Help plan and lead fun, developmentally appropriate activities in a classroom setting
• Create a safe, welcoming environment for all children
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff
• Maintain accurate attendance and child records
• Follow YMCA policies, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services requirements, Step Up to Quality standards, and the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations to ensure safety at all times
• Help maintain classroom supplies, equipment, and organization
• Model respect for others and YMCA property

• A team player who communicates openly and positively
• As strong commitment to child abuse prevention
• Someone who enjoys working with children and can build strong, supportive relationships
• Ability to guide behavior through positive reinforcement and redirection
• A role model who demonstrates caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility every day

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend frequently, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Work in an environment where exposure to common illnesses may occur
