Childcare Administrator

The Childcare Administrator is a part-time, on-site position located in Dalton and Waynedale BASP sites, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the programs. This role includes supervising staff, managing schedules, ensuring appropriate child-to-staff ratios, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for children. The Childcare Administrator will coordinate curriculum and activities, support family communication, handle enrollment and recordkeeping, and ensure compliance with licensing and YMCA policies.

The role also involves collaborating with leadership to meet quality standards, monitor program budgets, and contribute to program development and improvement. The administrator serves as a key point of contact for families, staff, and community partners, promoting the YMCA’s mission and values in all childcare services.

• Experience in childcare administration, early childhood education, or related program management, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations, safety standards, and best practices in child development and education.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with children, families, staff, and community partners, both verbally and in writing.
• Skills in staff supervision, coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback to support a positive, collaborative work environment.
• High school diploma required
• Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center, school-age program, or youth services setting strongly preferred.
• Ability to meet physical and safety requirements of the role, including passing background checks and maintaining required clearances and certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid).
