Project Superintendent – Heavy Civil & Mission Critical Projects
Company:
Gregory Construction
Gregory Construction, a faith-driven and nationally recognized leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a seasoned Project Superintendent to take full ownership of field operations on complex, high-impact projects. This role is built for a hands‑on leader who thrives in the field, takes pride in delivering work the right way, and is fully committed to going where the work is.
Travel is a core requirement of this role. Projects are located across the Southwest, Southeast, and Mid‑Atlantic regions. Assignments are based on business needs—not geographic preference—so flexibility and a willingness to travel extensively (and for extended durations) are essential to success. This is not a home-based position.
What You’ll Do- Take complete responsibility for day‑to‑day field operations, leading crews and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality work.
- Drive project execution by owning the schedule, sequencing, and manpower planning in coordination with Project Management.
- Champion a culture of safety by actively enforcing site‑specific plans and holding teams accountable to Gregory’s standards.
- Maintain a constant presence in the field—monitoring productivity, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring work is installed correctly the first time.
- Oversee jobsite logistics, equipment coordination, and material flow to keep projects moving without disruption.
- Manage and review critical field documentation including daily reports, production tracking, change orders, and T&M work.
- Serve as the primary on‑site leader and point of contact for clients, inspectors, and engineers.
- Build, mentor, and develop field teams while reinforcing Gregory’s core values:
Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Communication, and Determination.
- 7+ years of proven experience leading field operations in heavy civil construction; mission critical project experience is a strong plus.
- A leadership style grounded in accountability, urgency, and field presence—not from behind a desk.
- Strong technical understanding of sitework, underground utilities, grading, paving, and equipment utilization.
- Ability to read plans, anticipate challenges, and proactively solve problems to keep work on track.
- Experience with construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, or similar tools).
- OSHA 30 certification required; CPR/First Aid preferred.
- High school diploma required; construction‑related degree preferred.
- You’re willing to go where the work is—without hesitation—and stay as long as the project requires.
- You take ownership of your jobsite and treat every project like it’s your own.
- You lead from the front, earning respect through action, consistency, and decision‑making in the field.
- Competitive compensation package including health, dental, PTO, and 401(k) with company match.
- Opportunity to lead challenging, high‑profile projects across multiple regions.
- A values‑driven culture that invests in its people and promotes long‑term career growth.
