Overview

PSG is a fast‑growing construction and infrastructure firm specializing in mission‑critical environments. We are seeking a vigilant, proactive Safety Specialist to champion site‑wide safety programs, conduct inspections, deliver training, and ensure full compliance with OSHA and company standards on a high‑profile data center construction project.

Duties
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the site‑specific Safety & Health Program, including emergency response plans, hazard communication, and fall protection procedures.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and job‑hazard analyses; identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and collaborate with supervisors to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and conduct formal safety orientation for all new hires, subcontractors, and visitors; coordinate ongoing safety training.
  • Investigate all incidents, near‑misses, and injuries – complete root‑cause analysis, document findings, and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records (OSHA 300 logs, inspection reports, training records, permit documentation) and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
  • Enforce strict adherence to PPE requirements and site rules; have authority to stop work when imminent danger exists.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies during inspections and address compliance gaps.
  • Coordinate with project management, superintendents, and subcontractor safety representatives to align safety expectations.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (heat stress, air quality, noise) and implement controls.
  • Support emergency response drills and maintain first‑aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment on site.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through recognition programs, safety committees, and open communication channels.
Must‑Haves
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive construction safety experience, with at least 2 years on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects involving heavy civil, structural, and MEP activities.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Outreach certification (or equivalent) – valid and current.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations, hazard recognition, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven ability to conduct effective safety training and toolbox talks for diverse crews.
  • Strong investigative and documentation skills – clear reports and accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – comfortable interacting with workers, foremen, project managers, and external agencies.
  • Physically fit to walk the job site, climb ladders, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours – prepared to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.
  • English fluency (reading, writing, speaking) is essential for documentation, training, and regulatory correspondence.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Prior experience on hyperscale data center, semiconductor cleanroom, or other high‑tech construction projects.
  • OSHA 500 or 502 Trainer certification – ability to teach 10‑ and 30‑hour courses.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential.
  • Experience with digital safety management platforms (e.g., Procore, Safety Net, HCSS).
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Bilingual Mandarin Chinese skills are a plus for communicating with Mandarin‑speaking workers.
