Role OverviewA well-established contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This role is focused on preparing accurate, competitive estimates for treatment plant, pump station, and related infrastructure projects throughout New England.

Key Responsibilities- Review plans, specifications, proposals, and bid documents to understand project scope
- Prepare detailed estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and vendor costs
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in developing complete bid packages
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify scope gaps, risks, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Support bid strategy, final estimate reviews, and project handoff to operations
- Help maintain estimating databases, vendor relationships, and historical cost information
- Work closely with estimating, project management, and field teams to support successful project outcomes
- Experience estimating construction projects, ideally within water, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, heavy civil, mechanical, or related technical scopes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and cost drivers
- Comfortable with takeoff tools, estimating software, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines during active bid cycles
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Experience with treatment plants, pump stations, or process-based construction is a strong plus
- You’ll be estimating meaningful infrastructure projects that support clean water, wastewater treatment, and long-term community needs
