Field Engineer

job summary:
Our client is hiring a Field Engineer - Layout to support commercial concrete construction projects throughout the Columbus, OH market. This role will perform construction layout using Trimble robotic equipment and Total Station technology, interpret project drawings, and ensure accurate field layout while partnering closely with Operations Managers, Superintendents, and Field Engineers.

The team is seeking an experienced construction layout professional with a background in field engineering, surveying, or construction layout who enjoys working in the field and supporting complex commercial projects. • Perform construction layout for commercial concrete projects using Trimble robotic equipment and Total Station technology.
• Lay out footings, anchor bolts, and structural elements while ensuring accuracy throughout all phases of construction.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings to support field operations and project execution.
• Coordinate with project teams to maintain layout accuracy and support successful project delivery across multiple job sites.
• Primarily support one assigned project with occasional assistance on nearby projects throughout the Columbus market.

• 3+ years of construction field engineering, layout, or surveying experience (commercial concrete experience preferred but not required).
• Proficiency with Trimble Robotic Total Station, Total Station equipment, and reading construction drawings;
  AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of construction layout principles with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
