This established M&E contractor has earned a strong reputation for delivering complex mechanical and electrical installations on large-scale data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and advanced manufacturing projects across Ireland and mainland Europe.
With a substantial pipeline of Mechanical and HVAC works secured, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen the commercial team on a major project in Germany. The Role:Senior Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & HVAC Projects
Based on site in Germany, you will take commercial responsibility for the Mechanical and HVAC packages on a large-scale construction project. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will work closely with project management, procurement and engineering teams to ensure strong commercial performance from project commencement through to final account.
This is a senior position requiring proven experience managing mechanical subcontract packages, contractual matters, cost reporting and client engagement within an M&E contracting environment.
Must Have Requirements- Must have 7+ years' experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor within an M&E contractor.
- Proven experience required managing Mechanical and HVAC packages on large construction projects.
- Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or similar technically complex projects is required.
- Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts, procurement and commercial reporting.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Previous experience working on European projects.
- Knowledge of BIM, CostX or similar commercial software.
- Strong understanding of NEC, FIDIC or JCT forms of contract.
- Experience mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership.
- Additional commercial or contract management qualifications.
- Foreign language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
- Manage the commercial delivery of Mechanical and HVAC packages from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial valuations.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations and contract administration.
- Assess and agree subcontractor variations and payment applications.
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and negotiate client variations and final accounts.
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to support programme delivery.
- Ensure accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
- Maintain strong contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support junior commercial staff where required.
You are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical and HVAC projects. You understand the commercial pressures involved in delivering technically demanding projects and are comfortable working closely with project teams to protect profitability while maintaining excellent client relationships.
You are organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple work streams while maintaining attention to detail throughout the project lifecycle.
