Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive project plan that incorporates all relevant project, customer, and company information in collaboration with the Project Coordinator, Field Leads, and centers of excellence to ensure the correct project outcomes are achieved.
  • Validate that the project team has all necessary bid and contract information to begin detailed planning for the project.
  • Review all project documentation and create a Project Plan that aligns with contract requirements, estimated budget, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Create and prepare the Customer Plan, including key focus areas, critical items to address, and structured interactions to ensure expectations are met and issues are proactively managed.
  • Create and prepare the Equipment Plan, including a detailed list of equipment and duration by project phase in collaboration with the Equipment Coordinator.
  • Develop and present a sequenced project schedule with clear milestones, ensuring logical phasing of work and coordination with field operations.
  • Define detailed quality expectations for key elements of the project, including the means and methods to be used by field teams, and incorporate lessons learned and risk prevention strategies from prior projects.
  • Develop specific action plans related to talent development priorities for the project team, leveraging project activities as opportunities for growth and skill enhancement.
  • Integrate safety into all aspects of project planning by identifying likely hazards, planning their elimination or mitigation, and establishing a schedule of required safety trainings.
  • Communicate expectations clearly with subcontractors and vendors to ensure coordination, collaboration, and alignment on scopes of work and schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Operations leadership in the creation and preparation of the Construction Project Plan (CPP) and participate in customer plan presentations.
  • Refine and update the project plan based on customer feedback in collaboration with the Project Coordinator, ensuring alignment with customer needs and project goals.
  • Deliver the Project Plan and phase information to assigned Field Leads, schedule their activities, set expectations, and define the phase planning details and due dates.
  • Review detailed phase plans created by Field Leads and validate, adjust, or influence them as needed to align with overall project goals and performance targets.
  • Create and maintain a site logistics plan and engage Field Leads to use site space and staging areas efficiently for equipment, materials, and crew movement.
  • Review job cost reports regularly to monitor performance against budget, verify accurate coding of time and quantities, and track material and consumable expenditures.
  • Adjust work plans and resource allocation to meet budget targets while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule commitments.
  • Influence production and craft activities to meet the planned schedule, and collaborate with the Project Coordinator to accelerate the schedule or overcome challenges when needed.
  • Prepare and deliver short-interval schedules and relevant phase plans; assess weekly performance against the plan and lead discussions to adjust plans to achieve future targets.
  • Communicate clear expectations to Field Leads for the upcoming week regarding daily production, safety, quality, and other goals based on progress and short-interval schedules.
  • Use the On Rent Report to maximize equipment utilization in collaboration with the Equipment Coordinator and Project Coordinator, and monitor routine maintenance, photo documentation, and damage control.
  • Report, discuss, and make decisions on project opportunities and risks with the Project Coordinator and operations leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular site walks with safety leadership to identify safety deficiencies, and create action plans that address issues and explain the rationale behind corrective actions.
  • Encourage and ensure consistent use of the Near Hit Program, safety initiatives, and root cause analysis (RCA) processes at the expected cadence.
