Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr (Local) | $52.50/hr (Non-Local)

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Candidates Residing 50+ Miles From Project)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Monday-Saturday | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM | 6x10s

Join a structural steel contractor supporting a large-scale data center construction project in Conesville, OH. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced safety professional with a strong background in structural steel erection, ironworker safety, crane and rigging operations, and high-risk construction activities.

Required Qualifications
  • CHST or CSP Certification through BCSP
  • Minimum 5 years of structural steel construction safety experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience
  • Experience leading or providing direction to subcontractor safety coordinators
  • Critical lift and lift-planning experience
  • Fall Protection Competent Person experience
  • Case management and return-to-work coordination experience
  • Experience managing safety programs on large-scale construction projects
What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversee the structural steel contractor's overall site safety program
  • Provide safety leadership for steel erection and ironworker activities
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor safety coordinators
  • Maintain a highly visible field presence throughout active steel operations
  • Provide oversight for crane, rigging, hoisting, and lifting activities
  • Review lift plans and coordinate high-risk lifting operations
  • Monitor fall protection and elevated steel erection activities
  • Participate in planning and development for high-risk construction activities
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and risk assessments
  • Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and high-risk work plans
  • Coordinate safety requirements with field supervision, subcontractors, and project leadership
  • Support case and care management following workplace incidents
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and corrective action development
  • Track safety deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Maintain required safety documentation, reporting, and administrative records
  • Coach field personnel and subcontractor safety teams to drive consistent safety performance

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is an experienced structural steel safety professional who can combine strong technical field knowledge with safety leadership and program management.

Success in this role requires effectively managing subcontractor safety performance, anticipating risks associated with steel erection and lifting operations, coordinating high-risk activities before work begins, and maintaining a strong field presence throughout the project.

This position requires someone who can confidently engage with ironworkers, safety coordinators, field supervision, and project leadership while driving consistent safety execution across a fast-paced data center construction environment.

Salary: $52.50 - $56 per hour
