Health & Safety Consultant – Hyperscale Data Center Construction

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Project Duration: Approximately 3–4 years

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 40 hours per week

Pay Rate: $65.00 per hour

Overtime: No overtime anticipated

Paid Time Off: 120 hours

Additional Compensation: Annual retention bonus

Position Overview

Intuitive Safety Solutions (ISS) is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to support a long-term hyperscale data center construction project near Manchester, Ohio.

This senior-level position will provide dedicated, onsite health and safety monitoring throughout the construction of a large, multi-phase data center campus. The consultant will independently evaluate contractor compliance with project health and safety requirements, applicable regulations, and the project’s Construction Safety Management Plan.

The successful candidate will be a strong safety leader, relationship builder, and professional communicator with experience supporting complex industrial, civil, technology, or mission-critical construction projects. Prior experience with demolition, blasting, and other high-risk construction activities is strongly preferred.

The Health & Safety Consultant serves as an independent safety monitor and advisor. This position does not manage the General Contractor’s safety program or assume responsibility for the contractor’s implementation of project safety requirements.

Project Overview

The project is a major hyperscale data center campus being developed in Adams County, Ohio. Construction is expected to occur over multiple phases and may include:

  • Extensive demolition and site preparation
  • Blasting and excavation operations
  • Electrical substations and utility infrastructure
  • Underground utility installations
  • Fiber-optic infrastructure
  • Water and cooling systems
  • Security and support facilities
  • High-risk and critical construction activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily onsite health and safety monitoring across active construction areas.
  • Evaluate contractor compliance with project safety requirements, applicable regulations, and the Construction Safety Management Plan.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, field safety observations, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Perform Critical Risk Area inspections and document findings.
  • Observe high-risk activities and verify that appropriate controls are established before and during the work.
  • Monitor demolition, blasting, excavation, trenching, and other high-risk operations.
  • Document inspections, observations, incidents, and corrective actions in Procore.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional project safety records.
  • Monitor the General Contractor’s incident management and corrective action processes.
  • Track corrective actions and verify that identified issues are appropriately resolved.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority when an imminent danger or unsafe condition creates an immediate risk to personnel, property, or the environment.
  • Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, planning sessions, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide end-of-day updates, project status briefings, and safety presentations to management.
  • Analyze project safety trends and identify recurring hazards or performance concerns.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and project-specific safety reports and performance metrics.
  • Escalate significant safety concerns to project leadership in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build productive relationships with project owners, construction managers, contractors, and field personnel.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain independence, professionalism, and objectivity when communicating safety observations and recommendations.
