About The Position

You want to strengthen local journalism in Germany? You are interested in a non-profit organization and identify with our goals and values? Then we look forward to meeting you. For Spotlight Gelsenkirchen, the first permanent local newsroom of CORRECTIV, we are looking for an engaged intern starting September 1, 2026, for editorial support for 20 hours per week (max. 80 hours per month).

• You work with the newsroom on the production of the daily newsletter.
• You manage our social media channels with editorial content.
• You support the newsroom in organizing events.
• You take on research tasks and make your own topic suggestions.

• You are enrolled in a relevant degree program.
• You have a passion for social media and creating content is everyday for you.
• You have ideally already gained some journalistic experience.
• You work in a structured, proactive manner and do not lose track even in stressful phases.
• You like being part of a small team, are communicative and ask for help when you need it.
• You are interested in engaging with socially relevant topics and are curious about what is happening in Gelsenkirchen.
• Above all, you bring the motivation to commit to the goals of CORRECTIV, identify with our values, and enjoy learning something new.
