Role DescriptionThe Service Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Clinton, OH, responsible for serving as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This position manages service appointments, reviews customer concerns, and prepares accurate repair orders in coordination with technicians. Day-to-day tasks include explaining recommended services, providing status updates, ensuring timely completion of work, and following up with customers after service to support satisfaction and retention.
The Service Advisor also helps maintain organized service records, coordinates scheduling, and upholds South Shore Marine’s standards for a first-class customer experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including Customer Satisfaction and Customer-focused Service, with a commitment to delivering a positive experience.
- Excellent Communication abilities, both verbal and written, to clearly explain services, timelines, and costs to customers and team members.
- Experience with Aftersales support and Customer Service, including follow-up, issue resolution, and relationship building.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple service appointments, documentation, and scheduling in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mechanical or marine service knowledge, or willingness to learn technical concepts related to boats and marine equipment.
- Proficiency with computer-based service systems, invoicing, and standard office software.
- Ability to work on-site, collaborate with technicians and sales staff, and adapt to seasonal workload changes.
- Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in a service-oriented role; experience in marine, automotive, or powersports industries is beneficial.
