Adena Medical Center is seeking a Fellowship trained Non-Operative Sports Medicine Physician to join a dynamic team of 30 providers. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and preventing sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions through non-surgical methods. Sports Medicine physicians work with athletes and active individuals of all ages, focusing on rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance optimization. Physicians see patients at one location and staff an injury clinic during the fall.

Office Hours are 8-3pm, Monday through Friday.


Our Opportunity Includes:

  • Generous Starting Salary of $334,000.
  • Additional income for productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Develop and implement personalized, non-surgical treatment plans, including physical therapy, injections, bracing, and rehabilitation programs.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, performance optimization, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Provide sideline and event coverage for local sports teams, schools, and athletic organizations as needed.
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds, to guide treatment decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with medical standards and regulations.
  • Engage in community outreach, sports medicine education, and research initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with a fellowship in Sports Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Expertise in non-surgical orthopedic treatments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for sports medicine and working with athletes at all levels.
