$25.25/hr
At minimum, 11:30-5:30 availability Monday-Thursday required
Our campus has an immediate opening for a part-time Math / Science Teacher. This position provides a student-centered, supportive classroom that promotes resourcefulness, critical thinking, self-awareness, and inclusion while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach.
We are looking for candidates who love mentoring and working with students, who are passionate about their subjects, and who are excellent at adapting to students levels.
Candidates with the ability to teach Spanish (given the curriculum) will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one teaching in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and possibly Statistics for grades 6-12.
- Differentiate instruction for all students and support holistic growth in the classroom.
- Maintain complete and accurate teacher and student records.
- Develop and maintain genuine, positive, consistent communication with parents.
- Contribute to and participate in the campus community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.
- Provide significant student mentoring in addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching.
- Other duties as assigned (e.g., tutor part-time students).
- Bachelor s degree required; strong background in Math and/or Science.
- Solid subject matter knowledge in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and possibly Statistics for grades 6-12.
- Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD; mentoring experience is a plus.
- Ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, proficient in basic computer skills, and eager to work in a dynamic school setting.
- Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.
- Expertise in the relevant subject area.
- Understanding of learning differences and emotional difficulties.
- Ability to mentor as a positive role model.
- Ability to understand and support each student s profile.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Self-directed, proactive, organized, and capable of curriculum and assessment knowledge; strong communication skills; patience and compassion with students.
- Ability to manage stress and respond calmly in chaos or crisis; positive attitude; strong teamwork; service orientation.
