Overview

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to coordinate and effectively lead the activities at Camp Christopher. Resident Camp Program Coordinators ensure that activities are delivered in a manner that is safe and developmentally appropriate for all ages. Applicants in this role also oversee seasonal camp staff, create staff assignments and implement programming that uphold health and safety.

We understand that children require more than solely academic skills to flourish - children need well-rounded experiences to help them grow into successful, resilient adults. Summer camp, by design, allows children to develop their creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. As camp staff, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on those around you.

A key aspect of a successful summer is our leadership team. Strong camp leadership serve as role models for both campers and staff. These individuals play a key role in enforcing camp policies, communicating and addressing concerns, and strengthening the camp program.

Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of camp leadership
    • Manage the resources, staff, and program to provide a quality, safe, fun and worthwhile camp experience.
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of programs.
    • Oversee and evaluate staff, programming, volunteers, and camp operations.
    • Communicate professionally with parents to address questions, concerns, and/or relay information.
    • Be aware of all special needs and concerns of campers, parents, and staff.
    • Uphold and follow all regulations and standards to ensure staff and camper safety.
    • Encourage and support staff in their responsibilities.
    • Other duties as assigned by camp director.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Education or related field preferred
